A Week in Washington State

After visiting Aaron's family in Houston, we hopped back on a plane and flew up to Northwest Washington to spend a week with my family exploring Seattle and the Puget Sound area.

My parents rented a house on the water that was big enough for all of 14 us.

It was a perfect way to vacation with so many people - there was the beach and the bay and the hot tub, plus lots of space for us to play and entertain ourselves right at the house, we all shared the cooking and didn't have to mess with eating out every meal, plus we had all the adventure and fun Seattle has to offer.  It was a wonderful, relaxing week with family.

Aaron, the kids and I arrived a day earlier than everyone and stayed a day later, so we had two days to entertain ourselves.  We explored downtown, went to the EMP music museum, went to the glass museum, drove through beautiful scenery and took a ferry ride into downtown:

Once everyone else arrived, the real fun began!  With a house right on the water, we spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the bay:

And even more time down on the beach and in the water:

We spent some time down in Seattle visiting the Aquarium, the Children's Museum, Pikes Place Market and walking around:

The Northwest has so much nature to explore, so we spent some days doing that.  We rode the ferry, went to state parks to see the tide pools and picnicked in the sun.  Uncle Greg and Aunt Michelle even got to spend a day kayaking around the Sound:

One of the best parts of the week - playing with cousins!

We also got to enjoy a week full of Nana & Poppy time:

My cousin Mandi and her family recently moved to the area, so they came and spent a day at the house with us.  Due to some pretty lucky timing, my aunt and uncle just happened to be visiting them while we were in town, so we got to see them as well.  I think Mandi's son William had a great time playing with Kate and Ethan:

We snuck a few formal shots in as well:
