I'm a little late, but here's an update on Kelsey Q at 5 months, which she turned on May 12th. As always, she was a happy, smiley, sweet baby girl at this age.
Kelsey's hand and body coordination made impressive improvements during her 5th month. She has no problem grabbing anything she can reach and it all goes straight to her mouth. She loves playing with all baby toys that make noise and she can chew on. It is so easy to entertain her.
Kelsey found her feet this month and loves playing with them. I love watching little babies roll around playing with their toes. Feet make her happy!
One day early in the month, I was watching her try and get a toy a little out of reach. She accidentally rolled over to it and picked it up. She has a look of realization in her eyes - she figured out she could be mobile. It was a cool moment to witness in our little one.
Since then, she has gotten much stronger, rolling easily both directions to get things.
She also does this funny little sit up move when she wants picked up. It's like she thinks if she tries hard enough she can sit up herself.
K became more alert this month versus the last. She watches Ethan very intently, studying how he plays and eats. We can tell that she can't wait to become mobile and join him. Until then, she just watches and laughs at him.
She is still a very vocal little girl and just as social as ever. All you have to do is look at her and she breaks out in her bright, happy grin!
Here are more pictures of sweet baby K in her fifth month:
