Time just seems to be flying by - our little baby is 6 months old already! It doesn't help that she is changing and developing at rapid speeds right now. Somedays I honestly think I can see her grow as I watch. Every time she wakes up from a nap I am pretty sure her legs and hair are noticeably longer...
Kelsey became a lot more squirmy and active in her sixth month. She is now always moving and wants to touch everything to get it in her mouth. Nothing is safe within an arms reach of her anymore!
At six months, our Kels is a little steam roller. We put her on the floor and she gets around the room so fast, just rolling. It's nothing for her to see something several feet away and do a quadruple full roll to get to it. She even knows how to change the angle of her body with her legs to get herself lined up with the object. It's quite impressive.
Kelsey also began sitting up by herself this month. Once she had the strength to roll as fast as she wanted to, she is quickly working on the muscles to crawl. She isn't strong enough to get herself up in a crawling position, but she is trying. Her legs do the crawling motion behind her, she just can't get her belly off the ground yet.
With the strength she has, her balance is getting pretty good. She is great at balancing sitting up and is working on her balance as she stands and holds onto the table. She is also working on leg strength. She loves to stand at the table next to her brother. Each day she lasts a little bit longer before she falls back to sitting.
A few days after she turned six months, we fed Kels her first solid food - avocado! She had so much fun with her first bites. I'm not sure she actually swallowed anything, but she had a great time spitting, drooling and then mashing it around her tray.
She is now several days into eating solid food and I am not sure she has gotten much down. What she has swallowed has been purely accidental. She loves the spoon in her mouth but prefers it to be empty. She makes gagging, grossed out faces whenever the food gets to the back of her mouth. Hopefully she figures out food is good soon!
Kels is still very social. She loves having people around her. She smiles so much that her nicknames at this point are Smiles and Munchie, from her dad, and Smiley, from her GiGi.
She is also so snuggly and sweet. As I carry her, she throws her arms around my neck and squeezes. There is nothing better than baby hugs!
My favorite thing about Kelsey at this age is how she wakes up in the morning. She wakes up so happy and playful, laying in her crib giggling and playing with her toes. I bring her into our bed and snuggle and listen to her sweet talking and laughs as I slowly wake up for the day. Her happy face and chunky little body are the very best thing to wake up to in the mornings.

The brown chair was traveling across the Gulf of Alaska at her six months so we had to take her monthly picture somewhere else this time...
We were traveling most of her 6th month, but here are a few faces of our girl:
