Labor Day at the Lake

Somehow in the three years we have been back in Texas we have not spent a weekend on the lake.  So this Labor Day weekend, we took care of that.

A fun day on the boat:

First Days of School, 2015

The end of summer means one thing - it is time for school to start!

Ethan was very excited to get back to school, he missed playing tag with his friends!

This big guy is in kindergarten and gets to be a leader in his school.  He loves being the older kid in the class!

And Ethan's first day of school was Kelsey's last day of summer, so we did all of her favorite things.

First item on the agenda - dance party on the bed!

Kels even made a picture prize for the best dancer.

And then it was on to painting toenails.  She really celebrated big brother being gone.

These guys enjoy their time as a little twosome and have become little buddies.

Her little party was over the next morning as it was Kelsey's turn - her first day of school EVER.  This girl was ready!

After two years of watching Ethan go, she has been waiting and waiting for her first day.  She had no tears or hesitation (Mom on the other hand had quite a few tears...).

And she was excited to go back the next day, which must mean she loved it.

I miss my girl the two days a week she goes to school, but I love getting to hear about all the things they do and have her sing the songs to me.  Ethan doesn't share the details of his day (except for what he built with blocks or what kind of tag they played!), so it so fun having Kelsey come home and talk.

And the minute we got back to the car after dropping Kelsey off, this guy got excited.  He jumped in her carseat and was happy to get some days all about him!

I love my days with just my little monkey.  Its fun to see how much his own personality comes out when the other two aren't around.

He likes to play with E & Kels' books and toys while they are away

and do all the things they do.

But he also comes up with his own things to do, which usually involve a ball or jumping off things.

All in all, it was a great start to our new school year routine!

Last Days of Summer

As summer wrapped up, we had some last days of fun.

We soaked up our slow and easy slow mornings together.

Enjoyed the end of crazy summer hair.

Snuck in the last few things on our summer to do list,

like going to an Astros game,

and eating cotton candy.

We finally made it to the aquarium,

and rode the rides

and lived it up.

With summer festivals,

end of summer parties,

last days at the park with friends,

and one last trip to the beach,

we loved our last days of summer!

Still Climbing

Being a climber, Cole likes to scale anything.  I thought it was hilarious when he started taking the long way to get into the chair -

First step,

 next level up,

both legs up,

and on the chair.

Stop a minute to swing the picture...

and now ready to throw the ball!
