The Rains

In the spring and early summer we had crazy amounts of rain, which was nice for a while because it kept temperatures down and made for some fun afternoons.

The kids kept a look out as we drove through the neighborhood for the big puddles they wanted to go back and splash in.

And they LOVE to splash!

With the rain, came more things to discover on our walks.

Then it started raining so much that soccer practice and recess were a blast because the fields and yard were a standing wading pool.  (Soccer during a downpour has been Ethan's favorite by far!)

Practice in the rain was fun for all!  I can't keep this kid out of the water.

And then our parks went underwater, which didn't hold the kids back from playing.

It was like water world!

Although she thought it was nice that every once in a while we got to play in the dry outdoors.

And then the big storm came and our city went underwater...

which kept Daddy and Ethan home from work and school (and luckily did no damage to our house).

Once the rains left in mid June, the temps rose and summer got a little tougher.  We enjoyed the cool down and extra fun while we had it!
