I've said it before on this blog and am now saying it again, our Coley Bear is a CLIMBER. Ethan was an active baby and always moving, but he preferred his action on the ground running. And I doubt pulling herself up even crossed Kels' mind a single time.
So this is our first experience with a baby that likes to move UP.
Whenever he enters a new space, he scans around to find the best place to climb on - blocks, rocks, chairs, window sills, step stools, ladders...anything works!
At times it is super cute, like when he was climbing stairs easily at 9 months and going up slides by himself at a year.
And then going down them by himself. It was nice for me to just sit back and watch.
But at other times, its amazing how relentless he is about being off the ground...and finding things I try to keep out of his reach. Grr.
And there are times when his climbing is totally appropriate and semi-safe.
But he has not learned the difference between safe climbing and just being silly.
And pushing the edge even further into just being ridiculous!
But with all the climbing, he has learned incredible balance for his age.
Even with good balance though, his little head has had a few bumps and bruises.
Maybe I should just put a permanent helmet on my little climber baby, because I don't think he is going to stay grounded anytime soon!
