Ethan started preschool this September and is loving his new teacher and new friends. He goes two days a week, so he gets time away from Mom and Sis to grow on his own but still gets plenty of time to join us on our adventures and play.
His favorite things about school so far are the bikes he gets to ride outside and the blocks to build with inside. He is also very excited that he gets to nap with his friends...which is ironic because at home he tries to convince me he doesn't need naps anymore...
School has brought a whole new sense of independence for E. After the first day he went, he came home wanting to do everything on his own and taking so much pride in his accomplishments, which was a new thing for him.
We are enjoying watching this change in his personality as he realizes that being a big boy doesn't just mean he can run fast, but he can do anything he wants. He is taking the initiative of helping me around the house, in the kitchen, in dressing and the bath, in helping Kels and even in helping me choose which direction to go in the car.
It took us a little trial and error, but we are happy that we found a fantastic little school that E seems to thrive in and we are excited to watch him grow through the year there.
A huge perk to E going to school is that I have two days a week to spend with just my baby girl. We have lots of fun playing, reading, and doing little projects together.
E has been with her almost every day of her whole life until this point, so it is neat to see her adjust to figuring out her own way and not just following him.
She loves being the big kid when E is gone - asking to ride in his carseat as soon as we drop him off, loving to lay in his bed and read books, and gets to play with his favorite toys uninterrupted.
But as soon as I tell her it's time to get our guy, she gets so excited. It is fun to get one on one time, but she misses her brother!
And once they are back together again, they play so well. (And they love watching videos of themselves together!)

As Kels is figuring out her independence without her brother, she is getting very choosy on her outfits. Some of her favorites lately:
