Boy, Girl...BOY!

We found out in mid September that we are having a little baby boy!  We were, of course, most excited to see the little guy being so active and that he seems to be as healthy as can be, but I can't deny that we were super excited to find out he's a he.

The little bug was so fun to watch during the ultrasound, he was cracking us up.  When we first saw him, he was reclined back with one arm bent back behind his head and his legs stretched out and crossed, like he was laying on the couch watching football.  He already looks so much like his daddy!  We are hoping that his laid back position is indicative of his personality....maybe???  :)

I flipped back and forth on whether I thought it was a boy or girl before the appointment.  My first instinct was to say it was a girl, but this pregnancy has been so much more like Ethan's then Kelsey's that both Aaron and I were pretty sure walking in that it was a boy.

Luckily, having another pregnancy like Ethan's is a very good thing.  Once I got past the total and all encompassing exhaustion of the first trimester (so, so much harder with two little ones and crazy south Texas heat!), it has been very enjoyable.  With Kels, I craved any sweets and a lot of them, but with the boys I wanted savory things like eggs and soft cheeses (we went through so much chive and onion cream cheese and brie).  It will be fun to see if the next five months and delivery are similar to E's as well.

It was also fun telling this kids they were having a brother.  Ethan was so sure he was getting another sister that I had to convince him it really is a boy.  Once he believed me, he seemed pretty excited.  He thinks its going to be like having his boy friends around all the time.  Hopefully it is!

Kels is indifferent if its a boy or girl, but seems to really understand that there is a baby in there.  We took Malley to the vet, which I called the Doggie Dr, and she kept asking to check the baby.  Apparently in her world now, anyone who goes to the Dr is getting the baby checked.  Luckily, Malley had no baby.

I love being pregnant and I am appreciating the time I get to carry this little guy.  And we cannot wait until there is another little face to squeeze into these selfies.
