October is one of our favorite months here in South Texas because the heat and humidity let up a bit and everyone begins to escape the AC and head outside to celebrate. There are more festivals during the month in this city then we could even try to attend, but every weekend we did our best to hit as many as we could.
Of course, we made it to a few of the classic fall festivals, which were the kids favorites, then we stopped by some ethnic festivals, and this year we were able to sneak in two of Aaron's and my favorites, the biking festivals.
We painted pumpkins,
and more pumpkins,
and faces,
and hands,
and even the big guy got in on the fun.
We rode on hay,
and danced,
and bounced,
and played,
and bounced,
until we crashed.
And look who showed up during all this festiveness - Uncle Brian! He arrived in town just in time to get in on some free beer and the end of the Texas summer heat. :)
We are very excited that he and Aunt Kora have moved to Galveston Island, just south of us. It is a lot of fun getting to see them so often now! ...and having an excuse to visit the beach isn't too bad either:
