One of the kids favorite things to do these days is go on adventures around the neighborhood. Most afternoons, despite the heat or the rain, our little crew is out roaming the streets.
It used to be E on his trike or skooter, Kels in the stroller and Malley running around us.
But E's legs were getting too long for the trike so we upgraded his ride to a big boy bike. That was weeks ago and he is still so excited about his new bike. With training wheels! He loves the independence he has on it and I love how cautious he is.
With E on his bike, Kels got to take the trike as her own.
And when she doesn't want to bike, she hops in the chariot behind Mommy's bike and gets the whole thing to herself.
We make lots of stops on our trips, checking out the flowers or fruit we see growing along the sidewalks, checking out trees, looking at birds and animals we see (Malley only has eyes for the squirrels!).
And on really lucky days, we stop at one of the neighborhood parks for play and shade time.
Our afternoon adventures are some of my favorite times with the kids at this age. I love listening to Kels sing as we go, watching Malley stick close to E as they ride ahead, and seeing the excitement on all their faces when they see something new and different they want to check out.
And honestly, I just love watching the kids roam around in their helmets. I don't think there is anything cuter then a little kid in a bike helmet!
