The Fuhr Five: They've Got Style

One of my favorite parts of parenting a four year old and a two year old is watching them develop their own individuality.

And a big part of this process includes experimenting with different styles of dress.

Their exploration of clothes started with our dress up bin. They both love to dig through and find a different fun combination of things to play in.

Around two, Kels entered the normal toddler stage of wanting to pick out her own clothes. And over the last few months, she has been working on her own signature style.

She now picks out her clothes most days, and sometimes her choices seem pretty mainstream normal.

But most days, her outfits are a little more fun.

From simple

To grand

Imaginative

To purposeful

Our Kels loves to get creative with her clothes.

And naturally, she is still a fan of going au naturel.

But her favorite, by far, is her pajamas.

She started the summer off favoring the Tinkerbell nightgown.

But by July, she was in love with all of them.

When we went out, I asked her to pair them with regular clothes since she insisted on wearing them everywhere, which usually meant adding some practical footwear. Style!

And in August, her fleece footie owlies became better than all others. She hung out everywhere in them,

Even outside in 95 degree heat...fleece in 95 degrees. Sounds cozy.

Lately, she loves her swim suit cover ups and wearing her big brother's clothes...paired together on this day at the park.

And her favorite accessory is of course - the blanket!

Ethan's signature style is a little more subtle. He loves to layer clothes, which most of the time isn't very visible. Even in the summer heat, he likes to wear at least two shirts, often more, and two pairs of shorts.
