In Summer

Somehow we have gotten all the way through summer without a single post about life here in Houston.  I've posted about our adorable baby, about our fun vacations, but what happened to the day to day?

Well turns out I didn't take many pictures of our day to day - not a single remembrance of our many days with friends at our favorite splash pad, fun times in the yard riding bikes, playing ball and splashing, days visiting our friends' pools, or many of the other good times we had.

But I did get this single, totally random of our many Sundays at the beach.

Could it be that we have had our hands full this summer???

And when we are out I get to hold this sweet thing instead of a camera.

But I did capture a few fun memories of the hot days of summer 2014.

Like our family trips to the local pool (Cole had just gotten in and is still amazed by the water in this pic)

Or our week of playing World Cup Soccer

And watching World Cup Soccer

Park time with family and friends

And our weekend family adventures...when we weren't adventuring to the beach.

There were some milestones made this summer, like Coley's first popsicle on the porch

The eagerly anticipated first harvest of summer fruit

Ethan learning to pump the swing by himself

The big girl getting on the real bike for the first time

Learning to really swim

And learning to really love the water.

Most weeks we spent at least a one day out taking advantage of our very cool city -

Like our Thursdays interacting with exhibits at the Fine Arts Museum

Or checking up on our animal friends at the zoo (and playing in the splash pad!)

Riding rides at the Aquarium

Or exploring all the fun and different city parks
______________

When not out with friends, we spent a lot of quality time at home, just us.

Sometimes being a little crazy

Sometimes a little lazy

But always being ourselves.

We laughed

We played

We created...

Created meals

Created music

Created art ...

On paper

And on ourselves

Looking back, it was a fun (and kinda crazy) summer

with our three (kinda crazy) monkeys!

Did I say at the top of this post that I didn't get any pictures of our summer in Houston?  Well... I guess I did end up getting a few!
