It has now been three months for our little threesome being together. The first three months of lifelong bonds.

Just like each of their different personalities, it is neat to see the differences between each of their relationships and fun to think about how these bonds will change as they grow.

It is also fascinating to watch each of them develop traits typical of their birth order - E leading and bossing, Kels needing the attention of the middle child, Cole...not sure yet on this one but I would imagine we will see traits of the youngest soon!
E loves being the big brother and does a good job helping and playing with Kels and cuddling Cole.

At this point, he doesn't get annoyed at Kelsey always wanting to play what he plays and be right where he is. He does not like to play by himself and loves having a play partner.

He loves to spend time with Cole, make him laugh, entertain him, lay next to him as he sleeps. With Cole so little, E has taken on the protective big brother role.

Kels has unique role in the family being the only girl and the middle child. Her comfort zone is having E to follow and imitate, but adds a little feistiness to their play and lately, a little girlieness.
These two play well and don't fight often, although when they do it gets physical quickly. Kels is smaller, but she can definitely hold her own against her brother.

Kels' relationship with her little brother has been interesting so far. At two and a half, she doesn't hide any of the emotions she is feeling. So when she wants to be cute, she is cuddly and sweet with him, and when she is feeling jealous she she hits him. On top of her emotions, for the first few months she couldn't figure out how to play with him gently and slowly.

Luckily, right at three months Kels' jealousy lessened and she has figured out how to play softly with Cole and seems to really have fun with him. Once he is old enough to be a little play buddy, I am sure she will love having him around even more.

E and Kels' playtime together gets more and more fun as their imaginations develop. We are having a great time watching their games change and stories become more elaborate as they get older.
From dragons fixing planes and helicopters before the big race,
to being shoppers and payers at Costco,
to firefighting pirates at sea looking for treasure with the help of friendly airplanes.
They love to get their 'power suits' on to fight the bad guys...but first have to warm up by bending steel...
And then they are off to save the neighborhood.
Being older, E leads a lot of these adventures for them, but Kels is starting to add her own twists to the games herself.
And when she plays by herself, she is creating her own make believe scenarios instead of just imitating ones she previously played with E.
