Cole's third week of life was another good one. He spent his time growing and growing and growing.
And he did a lot of eating and sleeping as well.
Most babies grow fast in the first few months and Cole is no exception. In a ten day period, this little eater gained 15% of his body weight. It's good to see he's productive during all that sleep!
And I am pretty sure most of the weight he is gaining is increasing his length. This age is fun because you can actually see him getting longer each day and visibly stronger each day.
At the end of three weeks he could hold his head up and had decent control of it. He is gaining better and better control of his arms and legs each day. He gets lots of practice because anytime he is awake his arms are moving, moving, moving.
By three weeks he has gotten himself on a schedule of sorts. He eats every 3-4 hours, with awake times during the morning and evening. Lucky for us he knows that in between eating at night he should be sleeping, whew.
Cole is still such a mellow guy. He doesn't cry, which is awesome. He decided in his first week that he is a grunter instead of cryer. Hopefully this lasts a while...
He makes the cutest little noises - he makes mouse squeaks and cave man grunts when he gets hungry (it still confuses me in my sleep when I wake up to a grunting little thing next to me), hums in his sleep and makes little piggy squeals when the kids are 'loving' too hard on him.
The best thing about Cole at three weeks is that he is getting more and more alert when he is awake. And he is working hard on figuring out his smile!

In his third week, Cole got to meet the rest of the Fuhr family. Grandpa came into town,
and Aunt Kristin, Uncle Nick and Uncle Curtie came by for a day of play.
And that means the kids also had a fun day of playing with cousin Knox and watching their brand new cousin Cheyann sleep.
It was fun to get Cole and Cheyann together because these two babes were born 3 days apart. Since all newborns are pretty much the same, lots of sleeping broken up by some eating and staring into the distance, their first meeting wasn't the most exciting. But we see lots of fun between these two in the future.
Gigi and Grandpa were in town the rest of the week,
so Cole got to be held lots more
and the older two soaked up their grandparent time.
