Cole Hunter Fuhr
February 13th, 9:27am
8lb 11oz, 21 inches
Three days before his due date, Cole decided it was time to make his debut. At 6:15 in the morning on Thursday the 13th, I started to feel some serious cramping that made me think this might be it. It only took me a few more minutes to realize that this definitely was labor and things were moving quickly. We woke the kids, gave them a quick breakfast and headed out, dropping them off at a friends on our way to the birth center.
Once we made it through traffic and arrived, it was 8:25. An hour later, Cole made his entrance into this world!

Cole and I, 39 weeks and 5 days...

Cole Hunter, 5 hours old.

Aaron and I decided on this little guy's name easier than we did the other two. Cole is a name that both of us liked and felt like it seemed to fit our little man. We have a pattern of giving each of our kids a middle name from the family (Ethan Kris after Grandpa, Kelsey Bailey after Poppy), so we decided Hunter after his daddy Aaron Hunter was a perfect fit.

When Kels woke from her nap, she got her turn at holding Cole. For some reason I was still surprised that she knew exactly who this baby was and was so excited he had finally arrived. She kissed his head, stroked his cheek and told him a secret.

Unlike E and Kels, Cole is a super skinny newborn, no chunk on this guy yet! He has a very long torso like his Daddy and siblings, long fingers and toes like his Momma, and the most perfectly round head.
Some say the temperament newborns show in the first few hours is indicative of their personality, and if this is true we are in luck. Cole was very mellow through most of the measurement process. Everyone in the room commented on how relaxed he seemed.
A few hours after Cole was born, we headed home to introduce him to his brother and sister. Kels was napping, so E was the first to meet him. He was so excited that Tutu had arrived! He ran out to meet the car, and jumped and danced when he saw him. He wanted to hold him right away. He giggled when Cole wiggled in his lap and started calling him his Little Buddy.
