We spent several weeks over the holiday season at my parents house in Colorado. We had a great time being with family, celebrating Christmas and New Years and enjoying beautiful Colorado!
--------------------
We spent some of our time preparing for the Christmas celebration,
decorating the tree,
reading stories,
and singing carols.
Most importantly, Christmas cookies were made.
Everyone helped in the process.
Making the dough, rolling and cutting the cookies,
and of course, decorating the cookies.
With a celebration of a job well done at the end.
The kids snuggled and slept,
and woke up feeling the magic of the day, knowing Santa had come.
---------------------
Presents were spread out over several days to enjoy all the new fun.
So when they got just what they wanted,
they could stop and play right away.
It was exciting for them to see what was in their presents,
as well as in Mom and Dads.
With all the excitement, sometimes E just had to stop and dance,
and Kels had to give a squeal,
and shreak.
It was fun watching both kids get so spoiled.
--------------------
In between the prep and presents, there was a lot of play.
E LOVED shoveling
and getting back in his skis.
He even was ok when he fell
because it put him closer to the ground so he could eat snow.
Although, bringing it inside to eat was even better.
------------------
We had the special treat of getting to sneak in a few days in Breckenridge.
It was a perfect vacation within a vacation.
The kids enjoyed time together in the snow with Nana and Poppy,
Aaron and I got to sneak away and get some skiing in,
and then we enjoyed some very good times all together.
E can't wait until he can hit the slopes with us,
but I think Kels was happy sticking to the gondola.
Christmas this year was wonderful,
made especially special by sharing with the family.
