After a few weeks of working on it, Kelsey is now officially up and walking! It is fun to see her toddle across the floor with full concentration and arms waving.
She took her first steps before her first birthday, but was only taking two to three steps at time, not quite a real walk. Then at exactly 13 months, she got up and wobbled her way across the room taking eight to ten steps at a time.
She spent a few days getting up, giggling, clapping and practicing her balance. After a few days though, she was getting up less and less and just wanting to be carried again.
But this weekend, Kels decided she was ready and is back on her feet toddling around. It's been neat to watch her learn this big milestone and to see her do it at her own pace.
Watching babies learn to walk is one of the sweetest things. Kels gets the cutest look of concentration on her face, stares at her goal, gets her arms out and wobbles her cute little body and chunky legs.
And is always very proud of herself when she reaches her destination.
Mom help, grass is hard!
Giving it a shot,
Uhff - she falls,
And decides crawling is easier!
Now that she is up and walking, my baby girl is another big step toward being a toddler and not my baby girl anymore. Very exciting, but a little bittersweet for her mama. :)
