The month of March is one of our favorite times in Alaska. It is the transition from winter into spring, with glorious sunny days and warmer temps but still lots and lots of great snow to play in. It kept us busy all month.
Spring skiing has been great this year, with fresh snow most nights and warm temps during the day, so we have been spending as much time as possible on the mountain.
E loves skiing the fresh powder!
One weekend I took Kels away for a night at the ski resort with our girlfriends and Ethan and Daddy stayed behind to have a boys night. All I know about their shenanigans is that E made his first snowman,
and got to drive the truck. Boy time is great.
With the sun staying out late into the evenings now, we snuck in some cross country skiing as a family after Aaron got off work.
But on other nights we took a stroll down to our favorite brewery down the street. Kels napped while E pushed his own stroller, because he is a big kid now and doesn't need to ride anymore.
When he does get in to ride while we ski, he loves that it's warm now because we take the cover off the chariot and he can feel the wind as we go down the hills. He cheers Daddy on from behind, which is funny to hear.
During March we also took a road trip up north to Fairbanks to check out the ice festival, see the northern lights again,
visit the world championship ice carving contest (how cool is that porcupine???), and hit up our favorite brewery in the state.
We spent a day at the Chena Hot Springs relaxing in the warm pools in the cold outside air,
and swimming inside with the kids. Ethan started jumping off the side of the pool into our arms for the first time at the beginning of the day and by the end he was launching himself in the water.
Kelsey enjoyed her first long swim in the warm water.
She is already a little water bug and will go underwater and come up smiling. And all her chunk makes her a champ at floating!

Back at home, March was an exciting month because now that Kels is stronger and moves more, she and Ethan love to interact all the time.
He likes that he can make her laugh, so tries to as much as he can.
She thinks he is amazing to watch and is just mesmerized by him.
He likes to get to do the same thing she does.
He has gotten so used to having her around that he even likes to share bathtime with her.
And my favorite, they like to snuggle and read books together.
But sometimes he still likes to have Daddy time all to himself. :)
