I bought Ethan a tricycle months ago when he was still an infant and put it in the closet waiting for him to grow into it. In early August I realized that if I didn't pull it out soon, we'd be waiting until the snow melted next May to use it. So we put it together and Ethan loves it! He looks like such a big guy on it.
This is a picture of his first ride, before we bought the helmet (the helmet is very necessary because his dismount is a little rocky...).
I can push him around by the handles on the back of the trike or he can pedal himself. He has figured out that he can try and steer against me as I try take him around the neighborhood, so our walks are a mix of going where he wants and where I want. :)
Ethan LOVES his helmet. The first day we got it he didn't take it off for hours. When I did take it off he would go get it and try and put it back on. We triked and played and ate in the helmet the first day, it was almost as good of a new toy as the trike itself.
Ethan is moving into the big boy world in other areas as well. He can swing in a regular swing, not just the ones with baby seats...
...and he sits in airplane seats by himself! He loved getting to sit by himself for a while on our recent plane trip.
After he spent some time figuring out the buckle,
he settled in, sat back and relaxed with the in flight magazine.
