Fall has been a busy time in our house. We travelled a bit, entertained visitors, and tried to get out and enjoy the traditional fall fun festivals.
We took a trip down to Kansas City one weekend to celebrate our good friends Paula and Casey getting married. While there, we took the opportunity to explore what the city had to offer. We ate some great BBQ, played in parks and went to a few museums.
Ethan showed his appreciation for modern art by admiring and banging on the outdoor sculptures at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
We even got to sneak in some quality time at the hotel pool! Daddy taught E how cool cannon balls into the pool can be.
It was a fun weekend seeing good friends from Houston and celebrating Paula and Casey!
Our little man was a trooper and had a great time partying at the wedding, he even snuck in some play time with the bride at the reception. I'll post more pictures later of dancing and playing with bubbles once I get them.
When we got back to the north, we headed to the Alaska State Fair to eat some good fried food and check out the jumbo vegetables and flowers. Ethan was impressed with this 800lb pumpkin.
The traditional trip through the farm animals was so much more fun with a one year old than I've ever had at the fair. Ethan loved checking out the sheep and pigs and cows.
Each animal was cool and amazing...until the goat baaa'ed in his face. Loud baa'ing goats are more scary than they are amazing apparently.
It is fun having a kiddo old enough to get into all the fun the fair has to offer - he loved the rides, the shows, the flashing lights...
and the fair food! He and Dad were supposed to be sharing, but I'm not sure how much Dad actually got.
After a full evening of fun, we went home with a tired little man.
