Besides all the summer fun we have been having, our house has had an extra bit of excitement over the last few months. We are having another baby!
We are expecting to meet the new little bug in mid February 2014 and will find out if it is a little brother or little sister in early October.
Ethan and Kelsey are very excited for a new little brother or sister (well, E more than Kels, as he understands what is going on a lot more than she does). E is convinced he is getting another little sister and is working on her name. So far he has not come up with anything Mom and Dad would agree to.
I am impressed with how much E really does understand and how much he talks about the baby in my belly. He likes to say "now we have three babies in the house!...except I am not a baby, I'm a big boy." When he first saw the little bug on the ultrasound he looked a little confused, but when the midwife explained how the little blurb he saw is growing into a baby, he was very excited. He tells me that since he eats veggies and meat to grow big, I should eat them too so the baby can grow big. Smart advice.
And since many are probably wondering, I'll do the math for you. Ethan and Kelsey are 19 months apart, Kels and the little bug will be 26 months apart. That means we will have three kids in under four years.
The first year with three is probably going to be a little chaotic, but we are still so very excited to complete our family with this little baby. We are extremely lucky to have two laid back and easy kiddos already, otherwise I am sure we wouldn't even think about having another baby right now. E and Kels have both been easy babies, here's hoping we can get three out of three!
Can't you just picture another little one splashing around with these two!
