Down in Ol' San Antone

The full heat of the summer has hit down here in the south, which makes Houstonians restless.  A few weekends ago, Aaron, the kids and I were feeling this restlessness, so we decided to take a spontaneous weekend trip to San Antonio.

We had a great time seeing the traditional sights of the city, like the river walk and the Alamo, and discovering new secrets of the city.  It was a perfect weekend adventure of hanging out with friends, swimming in the pool, roaming the city, and hitting up the local brewery and BBQ joints.

Aaron and I had been before, but I was especially happy to take the kids to the Alamo so they could see the memorial to their 5 x Great Grandfather who died in the fight for Texas independence, G.C. Kimble.  Well, not so much that they could see it, because they don't care at this age, but I really just wanted a picture of them there.  :)

Ethan is not interested in getting his picture taken these days, so I settled on a super hero action shot at the site.

We were lucky enough to get to take Super E, the super helper hero, with us on our trip:

And his sidekick, Miss B:

And a little of our pool time:
