He's Three!

We've always made a big deal about birthdays in this house, but last weekend was our best one yet.  Three year olds know how to celebrate.  Ethan's excitement about cupcakes, presents, friends and bouncing was contagious to everyone and we celebrated for days.
Ethan had been talking about his birthday for weeks, so when it finally got here he was so happy.
We started the celebration weekend by throwing him a party with all his friends,
cupcakes,
and a bounce house.
He had a special birthday dinner,
opened presents,
played with his presents,
got a full day to play with his best friends,
and even had a little party at school.
His excitement was sky high for all of it.
He had an extra birthday treat by having his Grandpa and Gigi in town to celebrate with him.
He was so excited that I answered yes when he asked if Grandpa could come to his birthday party.
This was the first year E has realized birthdays are his special day and he soaked up all the attention and love.

After so much birthday play, he crashed hard for his birthday nap, which included a birthday sucker.
The kids spent three days bouncing
and bouncing
and bouncing
until they were worn out.

When they got out of the bounce house, E moved onto his other new toys.
And Kels went inside to bounce on Rody.  This girl loves to bounce.
She got into the rest of the birthday celebration, loving the trip to school for cupcakes,
and even preparing her own cupcakes at home
and sharing with Daddy.
She helped E play with his toys and 'helped' plant his new plants,
by pouring the dirt on his head...
And then gives me her sly smile.  She knows she's a stinker.
Luckily, the birthday boy was so happy he didn't care!
Of his three, this was definitely Ethan's best birthday yet!
