They're Back!

Nine months ago, Uncle Nick, Aunt Kristin and Cousin Knox packed up their house in Houston and moved to the Phillipines...just weeks before we moved from Alaska back to Houston.

At the time, we were bummed that missed crossing paths with them because it had already been a year since we had seen them last and we had no idea when we would get to meet up again.

A few weeks ago we were happy to hear Uncle Nick was coming home from the Phillipines and they all would be staying in Houston a few weeks before they headed to their new home in Oklahoma.

We were excited to finally get our families together.  It was the first time Kelsey got to meet her Uncle Nick and another chance for all the cousins to play together.

Since the last time we saw Knox, he has made the transfer from being a crawling, babbling baby on the edge of becoming a toddler to a full blown running, talking little guy.  He and Ethan had fun running around together... and stealing eachother's toys.

We went on a few outings together to the zoo and to a playland, but most of the time we just let the kids run around the house and play.

The timing worked out perfect so that Gigi and Grandpa came to town just before Nick and Kristin left.  It was the first time in over three years that the whole family was together and the first time Gigi and Grandpa had all their grandkids in one house.

While we were all together, it felt almost impossible to get all three kids to hold still for a picture, but we were able sneak in a few:

Mardi Gras fell during the weeks that Nick and Kristin were in town, so we headed down to Galveston to join in on the party there. It didn't end up being the celebration we heard it would be, so we stuck around just long enough to catch some beads at the parade and then play on the beach for a while:

That night our neighbors had their own Mardi Gras celebration, which we got festive for:

It turns out that Kels LOVES wearing necklaces and is a big fan of all the Mardi Gras beads we collected.  Everyday, since we got the first set, first thing she does when she wakes up is finds her beads to put on:

A few more pics of E & K during the month:

We are so happy that Nick, Kristin and Knox are all back together in one place again and it was fun getting to see them as they transition to their new home!
