Kelsey, One Month

Kelsey Bailey is now a month old and is doing wonderful.  Everyday she seems to change before our eyes - growing fast and just getting cuter and cuter.  Her motor skills are starting to develop and she is more alert day by day.

I've mentioned in previous posts that her first three weeks of life she was the most mellow baby - ate well, fell asleep easy and deep, and when she was awake, never cried.  So mellow!  Then at three weeks and one day our little lady found her voice.  She still slept great, seems like more than the average one month old, but started to get fussy going down.  We found out that she does have a fiesty side.  LuckilY that didn't last long and she goes down easy again.

Kelsey gave us her first real smile this week.    When she is awake and alert, you can dangle jingly toys in front of her face or just make happy faces at her and she will smile right back at you.  She gives her daddy lots of smiles when he plays with her after work.  There aren't many things better to come home to than your baby smiling back at you!

Kelsey is a very long baby.  She has Aaron's super long torso and my average length legs, which add up to a lot of length!  It will be fun to see if this above average length keeps up as she grows!

Our girl is not just a big baby, but a strong one.  From the very beginning she was able to hold her head up for a little bit of time.  Now at a month she has a lot of stability in her head and holds it high often.  She likes to grasp onto hands and when she is in her fiesty mode, she has quite a grip!

Kelsey very strongly resembles Aaron, just like her brother.  Although we think she looks less and less like Ethan each day, she still takes after the Fuhr side.  Her face, mouth, nose, body - all just like her dad.   But this lucky little girl did inherit one thing from me - my feet!  She has huge feet and super long toes - even the Dr comment on how big they are.  Her pinky toes are about as long as her fingers.

The day before Kelsey was 4 weeks, Ethan and Daddy fed her her first bottle.  It was neat to have Ethan get to be a part of feeding, rather than just watch me nurse her.  We were surprised that he knew exactly what to do with the bottle when we gave it to him.  I don't think he has seen a baby drink from a bottle recently, but he knew to take it to her and put it in her mouth.  It was a nice moment of big brother helping out.

Another first in Kelsey's life came this week as well - her first headband and bow!  We aren't big into accessorizing in this house, but every girl needs a bow in her life sometimes.

Although I'm not sure her dad agrees.  :)  I think she made this face mimicking Aaron...

All in all, Kelsey's first month of life has been pretty perfect.

More pics from the first four weeks:

I realized around week three that I didn't have a picture with just my daughter, so we took a few:
