Over the last week or so we have seen an unbelievable amount of change in both of our kids. Being a newborn, Kelsey grows so much each day we can almost see it happening before our eyes. And surprisingly, Ethan has changed in almost every way imaginable as he enters a new stage of toddlerhood that we wonder if he is the same little guy that lived with us last month.
One morning last week Ethan woke up a very different boy than when he went to sleep the night before. Overnight Aaron and I saw Ethan change everything he does - he changed his sleep schedule (naps are apparently optional now!), he changed when he eats and were (no more high chair), he started saying the toddler 'No!', his voice sounds different when he 'talks' (and whines...), he throws real tantrums (pretty amusing), he wants to hear the full story when we read not just point out animals, he LOVES puzzles (and has mastered all the ones we have), he pretends more, his fine motor skills took another leap in tuning...I could go on and on about how our guy has changed. At 20 months, he has started to seem a lot more like a two year old than one year old.
Kelsey has already changed so much in the week since she turned one month. At five weeks she smiles, laughs and mimics our faces as she plays with us, has better control of her hands and can get them to her mouth when she wants them, she can fully lift her head forward and push up during tummy time, she is starting to spend more time awake between naps (she actually has naps now instead of just sleeping all day!), and has fallen in love with her pacifier. We are so lucky that she is still a wonderful sleeper and has such a happy, sweet disposition.
