Now that we are well into October, our busy summer/fall schedule has slowed down and we are back to our normal routine here in Alaska. Aaron spends his week slaving away at the office while Ethan is busy taking care of his one and half year old work load.
First priority everyday is to play around the house and find new places to climb into, onto and over;
then he puts in a little time reading books and on the iPad learning animals, colors and shapes;
he even 'helps' with chores around the house like feeding Malley
and emptying the dishwasher (most of the silverware surprisingly makes into the correct drawer);
and of course he has to get some time playing out in the yard with Malley.
On top of his heavy work load at home, everyday of the week Ethan has places around town to hit up. Monday mornings we go to the zoo for a sing a long and a chance to play different musical instruments.
Afterwards we wander the zoo and watch the animals get fed.
Tuesday mornings he bundles up and heads outside to meet up with a group of other toddlers at different parks around town to play and run around.
A local running club hosts Tuesday Night Races in Anchorage, so every Tuesday Ethan gets out on the trails around town and 'runs' through the woods with lots of other kiddos and families. He actually rides in his Chariot for most of the race, but he gets out and runs the last part every time and gets to cross the finish line! Racing is fun for this little guy!
After a good nights rest, E gets back out there on Wednesday at our weekly meet up with a small group of friends. He gets to spend a few hours running and playing with his good buddies.
Thursday is our hiking day, roaming the trails with other moms and kids,
or playing at a rec center with his buddies.
Fridays are Ethan's favorite because he gets to go to his gymnastics class - which he LOVES.
As soon as we enter the gym, he turns on his maniac mode - all smiles as he runs, yells and climbs everywhere.
He has learned how to do a tuck and roll and other fun movements with his body like backward roll and standing on his head.
It's a hard job to live the busy life of a one year old!
