In mid June, we headed down to Tulsa, OK to be with my brother, Greg, and Michelle for their wedding weekend. It was a great weekend in the Oklahoma heat and humidity hanging out with family and celebrating Greg and Michelle. Ethan got to meet almost everyone in my extended family, as well as getting to be the ring bearer in the wedding.
It was fun to catch up with family and see how much the little ones have changed since the last time we saw them. It was especially neat to meet little William, my cousin Mandi's son, who we hadn't met before. Charlotte, my cousin Justin's daughter, and Anni are very close in age and quickly became friends. It was very cute to watch them play and dance together all weekend.
Before the wedding we were all wondering if Anni, who was the flower girl, and Ethan would actually walk down the aisle during the ceremony. Anni is old enough to understand what was going on and seemed pretty excited to be a princess and drop the flowers. E, on the other hand, had no idea what was happening and we had no idea how he would react. Luckily Michelle was super laid back and didn't care how it worked out.
We practiced a few times before the wedding and hoped for the best. In the end, they both did great for the real event. All the people in the crowd didn't seem to both them. I sat at the end of the aisle a so E could see me and walk to me. He saw me right away and started headed down to hug me.
And then he noticed that Anni was dropping flower pedals. E found this to be very interesting. He stopped to inspect the flowers, move them around a bit, and just check out his surroundings more. It was adorable to watch him curious about what was going on. He made it slowly down the aisle until almost the the end, when he noticed a snap of a camera flash and snapped him out of his own little world. He noticed all the people staring and him and got scared. Once I picked him up and comforted him, he relaxed and was happy to sit through the ceremony. Anni did a great job and dropped flowers all down the aisle and then stood by her daddy.
After the kiddos came the most important part - the bride! She was beautiful. Greg and Michelle (ok, mostly Michelle) did a wonderful job of planning the entire event and it all went smoothly and beautifully. Luckily the ceremony was short and we got to get out of the 99 degree heat and get inside to the AC and reception.
Our point and click camera broke the week before the wedding, so I didn't really have much of a camera to use to take all the pictures I wanted to. Here are a few that were sent to me or I snagged off facebook from the event photographer. I hope to get copies of the family shots and others and will post them when I get them.
