Ethan never stops moving these days. His arms are waving, his legs are kicking, his head is looking around - all the time. He even moves in his sleep. Its very entertaining to watch him, and sometimes tiring holding him while he bounces around...which is why I realized its time to pull out the johnny jump up. E loves hanging out in his new toy, spinning around and bouncing on his own. He doesn't have the coordination to actually jump right now, but he can bounce and spin like a maniac. I think he likes the freedom of being upright and moving on his own. We are definitely trying to appreciate our little bit of time left before Ethan is mobile...I have a feeling once he starts, he'll never stop going. (video of Ethan in the johnny jump up and rolling linked here: August 27th, August 13th and August18th.)
E has found a new love in mirrors. He can sit and talk to the baby in the mirror for a long time each morning. Its very cute that he has found a little friend.
Uncle Curtis came back to Anchorage for a week to visit between sessions at Texas A&M. Ethan had fun laughing and playing with Curtis.
Ethan loves spending time with his GG Lorrie as well. It has been very sunny lately in Anchorage so we have been spending as much time as possible on their fantastic deck!
Three months has been a big developmental stage for Ethan - he not only moves more, but is experiencing more emotions. Its neat to see little babies develop personalities and have a wider range of feelings. As a newborn, E was hungry and tired...now at almost 4 months he shows his happiness (luckily this is most of the time!), surprise (loves peek a boo), scared (he is not a fan of the vacuum), and stubbornness.
Everything E can get his hands on goes straight to his mouth and when he can't grab anything he just stuffs his hand in...as far as he can push it in. He's pretty determined to get it all the way in and I'm pretty sure one day he'll actually do it. The kid has a huge mouth.
Summer is pretty much over here in Anchorage, which means the moose are coming down from the hills closer to the city. We had a young guy grazing in our yard last week, beefing up for the winter. Here he is grazing on the bushes next to our front porch.
He wondered to the back yard to finish his meal. Luckily he only ate the bushes and didn't think our flowers or herbs were worth eating. (video of the moose on August 25th.)
Grandpa Kris, Uncle Curtis and Aaron spent a few days on the rivers and lakes fishing while Curtis was in town. The silver salmon run is in and they were pretty successful one day:
