Ethan is a fun, happy little 8 month old now. He is working on learning to walk and talk, has learned to pick things up using a pincher grasp and still loves his toothbrush.
He is 'talking' all the time now. 'Bababa' is his favorite thing to say, over and over and over, but I'm working with him to mix in a Mama too. (Love the double fisted thumb suck in the picture)
Our nicknames for him these days are E, Turbo and Bubba.
This has been the hardest month to take pictures because the little guy does not sit still, for a second. He's able to crawl and 'walk' pretty fast now, so the times of the day when he's in manic mode are pretty fun to watch because he tries to be everywhere at once.
Ethan is starting to walk by himself by pushing his little walker. He is very stable as hangs onto tables and pulling up on things but not as stable when walking behind his walker. His balance is getting pretty good, but still a ways away from walking on his own.
Ethan loves feeding himself. He uses his pincher grasp to pick up little pieces of food, but then transfers it to his palm and shoves it in his mouth. He has also started chewing his Cheerios in the front of his mouth with his teeth. I think this guy is ready for his molars.
E decided a few weeks ago that he no longer needed his pacifier and doesn't want anything to do with it now. We very glad that he decided to wean himself from this. He occasionally will suck his thumb, but it hasn't become a usually thing for him so far.
Ethan can understand and responds to "come here". At first I thought he was just responding to my hand movement when I said this as he followed me around the house. I stopped doing the hand motion and he still responds. I now trying to teach him 'toothbrush' (which he seems to understand because he picks up his toothbrush when I ask him to...but he always picks up his toothbrush so who knows :) ) and lion.
His favorite songs right now are Old McEthan and Knick-Knack Patty Whack. His favorite book is Rub a Dub Sub, about an adventure through the sea while in the bath tub, his favorite place to be.

Hi Alison!
John and I have really enjoyed catching up with E and the rest of the family. Hawaii looks like lots of fun for you all. Right now we are enjoying ourselves, just hanging out in Lake Havasu, Az. I rent a place for 3 months here, and John drove down with me for a week, then he will fly back. Hopefully he will come back in April to drive back with me. We really enjoy your blog and can't believe how E is growing. He is just getting cuter every day. What a fun child! Thanks for sharing!
Love,
Coco & John
