The Wedding Pictures are Here!

I was so excited to open my email this morning and see a message from Roy, the photographer at our wedding.  The pictures are ready and they are FANTASTIC!  Our wedding was such a happy day for both of us, it was so much fun to go through the pictures and relive it all.  ...and there are enough pictures to actually relive most every moment.

I am smiling so big right now remembering all the great moments.  Roy did a wonderful job with the portraits and formal shots - caught some absolutely beautiful pictures.  My favorites are the shots of Aaron and the rest of the guys, they all looked great!  We did not make a video of the ceremony so I was happy to see Roy did a great job of capturing it though pictures.  After you scan through all of the formals comes the absolute best part - the reception!  Roy caught pictures of so many guests at the wedding and so many of the great moments!  I can't decided which are my favorites - my little niece dancing her booty off, the big group dance off with the Fuhr boys bringing out all the moves, reliving the old days dancing with my Houston gang, or all the great family shots.  We had some great times that night!

Thank you again to everyone who was a part of our celebration that day.  The memories of our wedding weekend will always bring great happiness to Aaron and I, thanks to all of you that were able to share it with us.

There are thousands of pictures on the link below, but if you browse page by page you should be able to find yourself or some of the great moments pretty quickly.  Enjoy!

2 Months to Go!

Happy Birthday to Aaron - today is Aaron's 27th birthday!  We celebrated this weekend with dinner on Friday with his parents and fun filled weekend of moving into our new house.  Funny how things change when you go from fun, carefree single guy to married with a kid on the way.  :)

We closed on the house this week and were able to move in on Thursday. Its taken a few days but we have finally made it through the maze of boxes and are getting settled in the new place.

First purchase we made for the house - a brand new snow shovel! It feels a little weird to me to have to buy a snow shovel in the middle of March, but we've already used it a few times, so definitely necessary. All our Houston friends won't understand this since last week there was a 70 degree difference between Anchorage and Houston...70! All I have to say is, God bless Texas! :)

Here's a picture of the little guy and I with two months to go.  He's still very active and I am not too uncomfortable yet, so things are great.  Aaron and I started our birthing classes last week, which makes the fact that we have a baby coming very soon seem very, very real.  We're both just excited to meet the little guy!

He's Growing!

Several people have been asking to see pictures of what my growing belly looks like...so here you go.  Since we left Houston a month ago, he has definitely grown a lot!  Now that he is bigger and takes up most of the room in my abdomen, we can feel his little body parts very well.  He hangs out on the right side of me and most days we can feel the shape of his body, where his little feet are (most of the time poking my ribs), and sometimes his arms.  It's pretty amazing to get to feel him already!

This weekend is the start of the Iditarod race in Alaska, so we'll be heading downtown to watch the start and join in the festivities.

Have a great weekend!

Snapshots from the Wedding

We've had some issues with our mail since we've been in Alaska, but today received two packages with pictures from the wedding - thanks Cari and Phil!  The professional pictures that Roy took the day of the wedding are being resent, so I will post some of those when they get here.  For now, here's some shots from the weekend:

Entrance into ceremony site

Ever since I asked my brothers to be a part of my bridal party, we have had a joke that they would have to wear dresses and look as pretty as a bridesmaid. I had no idea that they would take that seriously and show up in dresses at the rehearsal! They were very pretty bridesmaids.

The beginning of the ceremony, waiting for me to come down the aisle.  I'm not sure what the look is between Aaron and Daniel in this one...almost looks like Daniel is telling him its not too late to run!  Luckily he didn't.

Welcome to our Blog!

It might have taken me a while, but I have finally set up the blog I've been promising!  My goal is to post regular updates about our little guy, once he gets here, and all our Alaskan adventures - but no promises on how often it will actually happen.  :)

The blog is going to be pretty plain for the next few weeks because all my pictures and cords to download recently taken pictures are locked up in storage with the rest of our household goods.  We are planning to move into our new house in mid March, so count on pictures from our Virgin Island vacation, our wedding and our first couple weeks in Alaska to come in a few weeks.  Save this site link and check back!

For now, all I have is a picture of the house that is soon to be ours.  Aaron and I are very excited to move into our first home together!

For those wondering about the sunlight up here - we have about two hours less sunlight in Anchorage right now than most places in the Lower 48.  Sunrise is around 8:15, sunset around 6:15...not too bad!  When Aaron and I first got here a month ago sunrise was around 9:30, sunset around 5:15.  It's neat to notice how fast its changing - we're getting 5-6 minutes more sunlight each day. Pretty soon we won't even have to drive to work in the morning in the dark!
